Bucket Filling /Bucket Dipping What is it? Imagine everyone has an imaginary “bucket” when you give them a compliment or do something nice, you fill their “bucket”. When you fill someone else’s bucket you also fill your own bucket because you feel good about your kindness. If someone is not nice to another person, then they are a “bucket dipper”. They empty other’s buckets while also emptying their own. Hopefully you will begin to hear your child talk about “bucket filling” at home too!
Positive Reinforcement and Consequences: Right now we have a CLASS bucket and I reward good behavior by placing pom poms in our bucket, The Class will earn reward days when we fill our bucket to ¼, ½, ¾, and completely FULL! I will always send a message on Parent Square to let you know what our reward is. Soon I will introduce individual buckets to students. Each student will have a bucket on their desk and they will begin to collect pom poms. On Fridays we will “SHOP” with those pom poms. They can shop at our class store when they have 10 pom poms. Students can also have to take OUT pom pom if they choose to break a rule.
